Patrons d'été

More patterns, this time from the 1940s and 50s. I got these two and another long sleeve New Look-esque dress pattern yesterday at La Gaillarde (they offer weekend classes in wardrobe reconstruction and pattern making that sound like a real nice time) in St. Henri. They had a bunch of old hat boxes full of vintage patterns for three dollars each. I'm getting obsessed. And since we dodged a bullet with the whole Earth ending thing today, I'll have time to make them!

I want to make the shorts with the cuffed bottoms out of soft denim, and I think it would be swanky to make the flowier ones out of a lighter cotton and pretend like I'm a deb playing tennis at the country club.

Vogue 6969 c. 1950

I got a nice light white cotton fabric with pale little flowers that I think would be nice. I'm pretty sure I'd be mistaken for Grace Kelly in one of these bad boys.

Remember this little gem? I do. Mika!
